Raptors Win: The deal is a classic example of a trade where the team receiving the famous scorer did not necessarily receive the better total package. Gay was good in Sacramento, so the Kings deserve a positive grade. Toronto improved its chemistry, added useful depth and later converted Vasquez into assets that helped define the franchise's next era. That cumulative value makes the Raptors the winner.

Minnesota acquired Luc Mbah a Moute while sending out Derrick Williams in the 2013-11-26 transaction with Kings.

On October 25, 2013, the Phoenix Suns acquired Emeka Okafor; first-round pick (protected top 12 in 2014, top 10 in 2015-19, unprotected in 2020) (2014 #18-Tyler Ennis) from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Marcin Gortat; Kendall Marshall; Shannon Brown; Malcolm Lee.

Milwaukee acquired Caron Butler while sending out Ish Smith; Viacheslav Kravtsov in the 2013-08-29 transaction with Suns.

Philadelphia 76ers came out ahead in the 2013-08-22 trade with Memphis, which received 2014 second-round pick (protected top 50 and 56-60, else extinguished) (not exercised); trade exception for Tony Wroten Jr.

Boston acquired Donte Greene from Grizzlies in exchange for Fab Melo.

Milwaukee acquired Brandon Knight, Khris Middleton and Viacheslav Kravtsov from Detroit in a sign-and-trade for Brandon Jennings.

Indiana acquired Luis Scola for an immediate title push, but Phoenix received a deeper long-term package built around Miles Plumlee and a future first-round pick.

Dallas Mavericks came out ahead in the 2013-07-22 trade with Memphis, which received rights to Nick Calathes for Grizzlies removed protection on 2016 draft pick previously acquired from Mavericks.

New Orleans acquired Jrue Holiday and Pierre Jackson's rights from Philadelphia for Nerlens Noel's rights and a 2014 first-round pick that became Elfrid Payton. Holiday developed into the Pelicans' two-way leader and later returned a major pick package. Philadelphia acquired two meaningful young assets, but New Orleans realized the greater direct and downstream value.

Golden State acquired Andre Iguodala through a three-team sign-and-trade, Utah received draft compensation for absorbing contracts, and Denver recovered Randy Foye plus a second-round pick for a departing free agent.

Houston won the Thomas Robinson salary-clearing trade while retaining multiple future assets.

Orlando sent J.J. Redick, Gustavo Ayon and Ish Smith to Milwaukee for Tobias Harris, Beno Udrih and Doron Lamb. Redick stayed only for the remainder of a first-round exit, while Harris became a productive young scorer and the clear best long-term asset, making this a decisive Magic win.

New York acquired 2014 second round pick (#59-Xavier Thames); cash from Thunder for Ronnie Brewer. New York received useful value, but the partner side finished with the better overall return.

Oklahoma City received rights to Giorgos Printezis; cash and sent Eric Maynor. The completed outcome is close enough to support an even evaluation.

On February 21, 2013, Toronto acquired Sebastian Telfair from Phoenix Suns in exchange for Hamed Haddadi; second-round pick (less favorable of the 2014 Kings pick protected Nos. 56-60 and the Raptors pick protected top 36, otherwise a 2015 second-round pick more favorable of the Raptors and Suns picks; 2014 No. 48, Lamar Patterson).

The long-term value clearly favored Sacramento Kings: Houston received Thomas Robinson; Francisco Garcia; Tyler Honeycutt from Sacramento Kings for Patrick Patterson; Cole Aldrich; Toney Douglas.

Memphis moved Rudy Gay and received Tayshaun Prince, Ed Davis, Austin Daye and a second-round pick while reducing payroll and sharpening the roster around Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley. The Grizzlies reached the 2013 Western Conference finals immediately.

Cleveland acquired Marreese Speights, Josh Selby and 2 additional assets for Jon Leuer and $6.4M trade exception, producing a clear Cavaliers win on realized player, draft and roster value.
